Or..not
Anways...streetracing is all the rage around here.Hell..we even managed fairly well at the "king of europe" shootout this summer.

..and..most of my friends are about as lobotomized as i am,so..the majority of you being german-i thought you might get a smile out of what my friends KG and Jonas has done.
The utter marriage of an old Opel Ascona and some brutal turbocharging of a 16V volvo engine.
Turbo..is a KKK K29 set to 2.4 bars of boost...and this thing runs the 1/4 english mile juuuuuuust a tad over 10 seconds..

Homebrew..with pride..in gotheburg guys

..and yeah...the front wheel go sky high even on the street when they find traction

 This pic reminds me the car from my Cousin in Australia .
He has a Ford Capri with a 6.7L V8 Supercharged. He had something above 600whp and -YES his car went also up in the air when he flored it ;-) Btw - i learned at this Year what a Line-Locker is
Did i mention that i'll be in 2 months again in Australia
Ahh and Jesper- is is possible that all you guys from Sweden/Norway and s.o. are crazy?? You have so much damn fast cars there and nearly every car seems to be Turbocharged and have at least 500HP.

Nah..i´m old fashioned hard core guy.
This..this is one of the cars I drive when i wanna go fast down the 1320 feet.

..and it so far plays in a different league that KG and Jonas´s car.. 8)
Just pure, raw, stinking volume n power..8 liters of it to be more exact..
Use a litte nitrous to get what i want tho, have to admit to that.
1284hp to be more exact..

No broh...nope.
The "crowd" around here sure enough THINKS they do...
You know what i mean..they install a dump valve and a chip..and all of a sudden VOILA...they´ve got 350hp.
Of course..it´s all BS.
Point is tho..hard core racers are hard core racers..no matter what they run or drive.
From that respect,yeah...there´s a few of us around up here.
Reason mainly is one of legislation.
Fact is that we´re allowed to build our own cars-within limits-since the 80s.
They´re then registered as "amatuer" built or "modified".
Even says so in the fahrzeugbrief.

Jesper -
i must say that you have i nice collection of cars :-)
Btw the Turbo-engine from your friends KG and Jonas looks bad ass
But unlike U i'm at the moment more interested in Turboed Engines.
I'm faszinated about this topic- and i'm trying to learn as much as i can about Turbo-engines.

Hi Jesper,

Frank.

The beater...is the 16V.
Honestly..it really needs some work, and it sure as hell isn´t a pristine car in any way.
Nor have i any intensions of making it pristine.

Cost of gas..approx 11 crowns a liter=1,2 euro
for super that is..

Insurance asf is dirt cheap
Those cars are considered classics..so..full coverage is what..approx 100 euros an annum.
