We got oil pressure! For the first time in almost 3 years, i was finally able to crank the engine. We pulled the wires for the fuel pump, but we cranked
it and we got full pressure after a short while. However heater doesent work, and the electrical seats wont work either. I used to have AC before we
ripped it out, so perhaps we removed something we shouldnt have. Any ideas regarding the fan would be great.

But, if the engine is off, why do you have oil pressure ?? I my car happens the same and i don´t know which is the problem .
You are an artist Mickael ! Best regards !!

Hi Nando, good observation. When i first turned the key to 2, i had full pressure which is wrong. I had forgotten to connect the earth to the oil pressure sensor.

But when i plugged it in pressure fell back to 0 again, I then turned the key to 3, to pull the engine round, pressure begun to rise up to 3 bars. I had disconnected the fuel pump because i didnt want to start the engine. I just wanted to turn the engine around to get the pressure up before we start the engine.

If your pressure gauge read 3 with the engine off, your sensor is probably broken.

Thanks Mickael, i will change the sensor.

How many ps un nm do you think you will get with all these modifications ?? I want to do it when i finish my studies and begin to earn some money, but i muss find someone for fitting it, i don´t know almost anything about engines, juts change the oil hehe. I will buy all from a seller or someone in germany and fit it here perhaps. Drive the car to Germany maybe it´s more expensive.

Best regards from Spain !

Hello, im not sure how much it will put out, dont really want to guess either, we just have to wait and see after the rolling road. Im not putting on the Atec throttle body system this year. In Sweden its illegal too replace the stock intake with ITBs, so to pass the MOT i need to use the original intake system. So im doing the MOT before the winter, and then i can put he ITB system on and drive all next year, but when its time for MOT again i need to put the stock system back on.
johan had look at the cables for the heater and electrical seat, and 4 hours later he managed to get
everything working, big thanks man.

And a few more parts are now painted too. Going there to tomorrow to sand down the front bumper,
which is pretty much what is left to paint. Evo 1 rear wing is prepped for paint but i need to build some
kind of frame to hold it while we spray it.

BUt do you think in the MOT knows if itbs are original of the car or not ? The m3-e30 uses itbs originally so.... Anyway, you can homologate it, and no more problems, but i don´t know the price of it.

Swedish rules are very complicated. It might pass with ITBs, depends on how much the man doing the inspection knows of the car, its a very rare car here in sweden. Only 13 2.5-16v were sold new in Sweden. But if he notices that the induction system is replaced with ITBs, he will not let the car pass the MOT, and he will require me to send the MOT station a paper from Mercedes that states the engine has not been modified, in practice Mercedes Sweden will not write such a certificate, which means that the car will never again pass a MOT.

It has happened but very rarely, i dont wanna take any chances though so i will just bolt on the original system.

It is however possible to register your car as a "modified vehicle" but its very complicated too.

Hi Mikael,

Hi Frank, parts that we put on dont need to be certified, but you are not just allowed to do modifications to an engine.

Well, spent a few hours in the garage today, trying to put the Evo 1 front arches and bumper on, trying out the wheel

To get the nice original look i bought a few meters of this sealing tape. Jack Beckers gave me the partnumber, and according
to him some but perhaps not all Evos had this strip between fender and arch. Its got glue on one side
Bild

This is how it looks when applied to the inside of the Evo arch
Bild

Here is the arch bolted on to the front fender, close up of the sealing tape.

I could have skipped the seal, i spent a lot of hours getting the fit against the fender spot on, but
i think it gives it more of an OEM look, and it definitely helps keeping the paintwork pristine.
Bild

Here is the bumper back on, needed to space out the brackets on each side, to get the arches to line up properly with the bumper.

I also need to space out the wheel, here it is with a 15mm spacer, which brings the ET down to 20, which i what i will go for.
Just need to order proper spacers with centric PCD, and of course longer bolts

Hello,
what have you for springs fitted front?
the group G springs?
how much have the kg?

Very nice work

BeitragVerfasst: 5. Aug 2010, 23:08

Yes, springs are H&R Gruppe G, 320 nm/mm and are specially made for the Evo, these are 3 cm shorter then the usual Gruppe G springs. If you order, make sure you say that you need the shorter Evo springs. I got the wrong springs the first time ordered from Sandtler.

Small update, i have bought new spacers, 40mm, 20 mm per axle. Front is ok, but i need perhaps 35mm at the rear.

But at the least the car is standing on the wheels for the first time in many years. I have some clearence issues on the front, but not much so
we need to modify the inner arches.

I now need to get the car painted, and hopefully we can have the car painted in the next month.

Hi,

Mikael- its looking good, you will be
all complete very soon now.

I think the rear looks nice as is, unless you have
rubbing there ?

Take as much O/A Track width as you can get !!

Regards,

Gorilla.
