A little preview on my latest project.
This take time, but I hope the car is ready in the middel of mai 2012.

When I mounted the rear subframe I got a suprise.
The bushings from 16v(same as c36&c43) did not fit.
The "bolt" was to thiny. The one on my var was ø27mm and the bushing was made for a bolt on ø32mm.
Then I remembered a frend who had a 190E 2.6 that he mounted bushings from 500E on, and he had some problems to make the bushing to stay right on place.

SO, I made some chims to this:

I alsow modify the bushing a bit so the subframe was tighter to the car,(simular to the polly kit).

The car was washed verry good under and I use 23bags of bodyprotection from 3M. Something like the one that are orginal from MB:

Then it was time to get the driveline, subframe and fuel/brakeline on the car:

The suspension are shockabsorbers from Bilstein(b8) and springs from V-maxx.
Brakes are 4pot caliper from 500e/evolution and 300mm disc and pads from EBC .

The shield are from E500(to 320mm disc) if I want bigger brakes later.

The gearbox are 6speed so I need to do some mods. The shaft was a bit to short and the the shaft was bigger and the splines was a bit bigger than the one from 16v.

The same goes for the wire. This make me some headache,but I manage to get a solution at last.
I modify a handbrakewire to 190E. A test so I did se if the wire work both ways:

I got one with a perfect high and almost perfect wide so I had to cut & weld just a little bit.

I don't like the org. hydraulic attachment part and with this was the engine a bit to high so I made some on my own:

I wanted a hedders from Supersprint,but I didn't find any with a good price, so I did some work on the one I had:

Sorry, I was sure I hade more picture's, but I need to take some of the result.

The engine have TPS on the pedal to controll the throttle so I have to make something that fit the w201.
So I change the engine/tps in the throttlebody and mounted a new TPS, MAP-sensor and a wire:

I have started to do some work inside the car as well.
I have conect the alarm ECU, the wires to the stereo and the consolle, with carbotrim.

I have a idèa for the light inside the car. I wil mount floorlight's(dim.light when driwing & bright when the door are open), light in the doorhandle and alarm led in the doorpin.

Buy some cheap doorpins at ebay. With a bit adjustment will this fit the w201

I put the fuelpump relay and relay to the injectors & coils inside a org.fuelpumprelay.
Fuses on top so it is easy to check the circut.

Diff from 2.3-16. But it's the same ratio as the diff on the car the gearbox are from(w203).
I will order a another pulley. This are one without el.clucth(like the one on newer models) and I will adjust the size so I get more boost as wel.
I have calculate a size so I get about 14500rmp on the kopressor. The kompressor don't handle over 14500rpm verry good. But i hope I get 0.6-0.8 bar and about 200hp at the wheels. I have seen some kit that gives about 0.6bar and 245hp(in the engine), but I don't belive that as long the engine have 193hk @0.4bar.
0.2bar don't give 50hp. On a turbo 0.2bar gives 20-25hp. When this kompessor runs fast(over 14500) it will develop heat and the power decreases.

I start the car today.
I still miss some parts( 3 calipers and 2 rotors and a dump-valve).
The brakehoses(goodrigde) are on the way :super

I hope the windows are in in a week or two.

as long I had to modify the throttlebody I lost the idlecontrol. I made a adjustment to day. If this fail I wil add a idlecontroller later. The wire are there so it only need to make two hoseconectors.

well, it's been a long time since the last update, but i'm working ass hell on the car. Everything I do takes a lot more time that it should.
I have mounted the rear window. I did use a lot of sealant in the in the gasket.

I alsow 16v leather seats, after a total makeover. I still have to mount the headrest in the rear (i need to make the hole in the backseat).

I finaly get my brakes as well. As long I already had one caliper and two rotors from 500E(300x28mm) did i skip the plans of using brakes from E500(320x30mm),but I have the shield for this so I can change this later.

In the rear did I use from E500(300x22mm) that are ventilated.
I have brand new calipers from Mercedes, and this went right to paint(mercedes 744 briliantsilver).

I have alsow started to sand the car again. I use 2000paper and wather on a brick, then 3000/4000 and wather on a machine. Then I use a componder and polish on a machine.
I have tested this in the right side. The rear fender are close to finish.

It looks so beautiful. But why take the heavy metal calipers in front, and not the brembos?

that was a good idea on my table,but now i'm not that sure. The K have exactly the same size and the style is simular. Maybe i have to get used to it.

I have now test the car.
It's not finish,but I can drive. I think the engine are a bit to hot,but I hope that will be better when I get a el.fan and the plate on the side of the intercooler so i force all the air thru the intercooler and the radiator.
The engine is strong and the car is easy to drive. In 80km/h i have 1700 rev/min and i 90km/h I have 2000rev/min in 6gear.

Updated the tools and the sparewheel. I have a 205/50x16 wheel on a 16" rims from a MB that fit on my brakes.

The storagebox for the tools, cover & carpet are from a 2.5-16

I have mounted a dumpvalve. I use a recycle/pump back valve. This are open when I don't need the boost and then bypass the air so the kompressor runs light.

I have doortrim made for org. sound system. I don't have the speakerbox so I must make some by my self.

I have now made some panels on the side of the intercooler. This is so the air must go thru the intercooler and not take any shortcut on the sides. And the car looks a bit more complete.

I got my new pulley. Old are ø94mm and the new are ø75mm. Endet up wit 0.7bar(0.4 org)

I have alsow mapped the car.
I know that a lot of people think they have a lot of power(another airfilter +10hp, another exhaust +15hp, red calipers +5hp +++),and when they take a dynotest they have less than org., so I did not expect much. The engine have 193hp stock so I was hoping on 215hp in the engine/180hp on the wheels, and dreamed of 200hp @ the wheels(about 235hp in the engine).

First we map on 98octane fuel
This ended up with 220 hp and 360nm on the wheels.
Then we try to empty the fueltank and add 20litres of E85. We did not get all the 98okt out so we ended up with about 10L 98okt and 20L E85. This gave us E48.
This gave 228.5hp and 370nm at the wheels. When I have pure E85 on the thank i may get 235hp and 380nm. Om my 16v did I mesure adout 35hp power loss so on a good day wit pure E85 I get about 270hp and over 400nm in the engine. This is sick and about 50 hp more than I ever think of.

The dotted line line are wit 98okt and the whole line are with E48. Blue are nm, Green are hp.

hmmm,

now I´m a bit confused regarding the different max. Power with different fuels.
We had in another discussion here: 85% Ethanol with KE the topic if a 16V engine with KE can be modified to support E85 with reasonable effort. The discussion is however completely in german...
What I learned in this discussion was, that for the usage of different ethanol content (fuel quality) different fuel Injection settings are required, which needs to be changed manually because of the missing "knocking" (??) sensor on the KE. Additionally most probably the (old) injection valves are not able to deliver the additional required amount of fuel, ignition set point must be changed, etc.
I´m fully aware that you are using a much advanced fuel Injection as the good old KE, but I wonder that your Kompressor engine/fuel injection system is able to support such a spread of all fuels between +/- 0% ethanol and 85% without changing manually any settings.
As background info: We have here in germany huge discussions about the new 10% ethanol fuel where lots o people are concerned to destroy the engine (and not only the rubber fittings/hoses).

Maybe I didn´t understand the forum discussion mentioned above correctly as my knowledge about engine construction and fuel injection is less than perfect.

But anyway, you did a great job with your 190K, congratulations!! :super Maybe we meet together in Hockenheim next year?
