This is the first MB I got.
This was a 87mod. 190E 2.0

I use this car for some years, but then I wanted to have an 16v.
In Norway we have some sky high taxes (if we want lissensplate) so I build one of a germany donor car.

The donorcar:

Then I got a 16v:

After a while did I want something else. Now there was started to run more 16v at the roads in Norway so I start to make a plan.
I wanted to have a 16v the "500-way" so I get 6 frontfenders from a std w124(500E fenders was to big, I did try that first).
At the rear I cut 4 w124 fendres. At one side I had to use one half left and one half right to get the right shape.

After a lot of work

The car did alsow get rieger GTS-bumper in front, and a better looking rearbumper(lower holes like the one in front), "m3" mirror, Rieger infinity rear wing and rieger window-cover. The engine was still a std. 2.5-16.

At a track-day two weeks after the car was finish.

After one year did I mount c-class(w202) grille, 300mmx28mm breaks in front(500E/SL) and 300x22 in rear(E500/SL).
Bild

The next year I mounted 2x46mm throttle bodies,Electromotive TecIII and some another camshaft(catcams).

Bild

Then I had time to finish the stereo.
1"tweeter + 4" on top as std.

Kickpanneler with 6,5" midbass:

Then some random pic:

After one year did I want more power. So the engine was totaly rebuild and ended up with volum on 2.7 litre.

Bigger oilcooler:

with scoop on the roof.

After a while did the engine stop. This was at a track-day organized of mb190klubb.com
I had long realized that something was wrong as long ther was some vibration in clutch pedal at high RPM(over 6000).
I have a new crankshaft, but it's not mounted.
I need to modify the shaft or change pistons.
I can't mount a std. part, that's not right.
I'm not sure if there is something else that are broken to.

Bild

So the car has been parked since 18.8 2008. I hope I get time & guts to fiks the engine sometimes

Hell, that looks ugly, but it's not a reason to not repair it withing three and a half years! ;)

Good luck with fixing the engine. I've never seen a picture like that.

Even if the look doesn't meet my taste, nice story!

I have a new(used) shaft, but it's not just to mount it as long the shaft and pistons are made for 2.7L and the shaft I have are stock.
The reason for the fracture must be a faluire from the stroking.

Hey

welcome to our Board/Forum

i like your cars, i saw all your pictures on the mb190klubb board.

I tried to translate norway to german, but google translator is very unuseful... so i have to keep looking the pictures.

Anyway the mb190klubb is really awsome.. i've never seen so much turbo conversions on the 16v or even 8v :)

best regards
Andy

Thank you.
In Norway, sweden & finland there is a lot of "hotrod" attitude so we make the car as we want them. In sweden are the cars a lot cheaper(about half price) so they modify a lot of newer cars, but there are a lot of w201 as wel.

If you change your stroke, of course you have to change the crankshaft too. Otherwise your pistons will hit the cylinderhead. Changing the piston rods to shorter ones won't help because it reduces the compression ration.
Try searching for an Oettinger Camshaft, as far as I know Oettinger produced crankshafts for 2.7 l conversions, but they are really rare and of course you'll get provlems with higher revs. Normally the guys switch over to Evo components to reduce the stroke and push the rev limit to > 8.000 rpm.

the chrankshaft in my engine are stroked and the bore is a bit bigger(96mm).The piston rod are std. 2.5-16.
If I use a std 2.5-16 shaft will the pistons be to low in the sylinder.
So I must change the piston back to std. or stroke the new chrankshaft to 93.2(i gues). But this engine/car is not a priority this year.
I must be finish with my 190 with kompressorengine.
If I want this car on the road do I have several m102(2.0, 2.3 & 2.3-16) and a spare 200kompressor engine, but as long I have something to drive in this have to wait. But I sure miss driving around in it. Love the torque at low RPM and the brakes and handling.

I have plastic on every of my m102 and I never had any problem with them.
I have heard of some that have broken their when they are changing the engine or remove/install engine in to the car. But I have never broke any of them.
M111 have alu and not plastic. Here are the thermostat mounted in the cap and not just lying there
