So....

Altho i´m at home since a little while back(turned out to be pneumonia-and then some),i´m by no means idle.

As i´ve told you there´s a new car coming.
One more...thought through...and for real.
Now,the new engine has been on the backburner much to my demise for a while..but...time has come.
As such..the new turbo touched down at the shop today.
Now...maybe those of you into the loop will get the general idea

Now..we´ve come out of the closet, and this little baby is capable of...almost a THOUSAND PS.
Yup..you read that right

Enough bullshit already.

He Jesper, wo ist der Bus oder Lastwagenmotor den du mit diesem Turbo antreiben möchtest

Ein kleinerer Turbo und etwas Copex tuning würde auch ausreichen

COPEX FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!

Thought we´d install this(it IS a rather large unit) where the alternator resides stock.
Move the alternator to where the compressor for the AC is stock.

Downpipe will be 4" and after approx a meter reduced to 3.5"-which we´ll run the entire lenght of the exhaust.

I you take a look at the compressor map..
86lbs of air if need be....now that´s a SHITLOAD of air.(Towards 1000PS in layman terms)
Have in mind that 1 liter of air weighs approx 0.0125g-and you´ll start to get an idea.
Yup..i for one believe that there turbo will suffice a bit..

Talked it over with Jonas today, and as far as turbine for it we´re going to recut and modify one for a KKK K29 to fit.
Point being that this way we´ll have a myriad of turbine housings to chose from,we´ll gt a T4 flange and the turbine housings are plentifold.
The turbo in the pics...is what you might call an experimental one that fell off the wagon :)

It IS big tho...and if need be there´s even a 76mm inducer that´ll fit it.
This ladies and gentlemen...is starting to get interesting.

I just need to get better first tho,but the antibiotics are helping. So far so good.

Frank.
The schwitzer on Makis car isn´t exactly small(will suffice into the 500 region approx).
However...you could more or less stick Makis turbo into the inlet of this one ;)

Then again.
Frank.
If need be...we´re covered.
Jonas...with the one we´ve got backup if it all goes to hell in a handbasket.

Urgs... wo habt ihr denn den geklaut?
Aus 'nem Actros?

Wenn der machen darf wofür er gebaut wird... würd ich gern mal mitfahren! :P

As i´ve been down for a while(over a month by now) it turned out that it was all due to pneuomonia.
Really sux,and what´s worse is that someone like me have a REALLY hard time just sittin around-which i HAVE to.
My doctor has downright forbidden me to take on any kind of appreciable load until they see that the pneumonia is giving in.
None the less....i´m AT the shop on occasion at least-albeit just a couple of hrs/day-and then mainly to manage to tell the boys what needs to be done.
Now..Jim and Jonas ain´t at idle however,and..for the first time in my life i get to be sort of a supervisor...which feels kind of odd,but..the show must go on i guess.

So..the boys started out.

Started by fabbing a bracket for the turbo, and that is a BIG ass turbo...no two ways about it.
Turned up in the right location tho.

Bild

Then...the exhaust housing for these turbos are watercooled, and as such big as a washing machine.
What to do?
Jonas..soon enough came up with the solution, and that was a close enough fitting turbine housing from a KKK K29.
After a trip to the lathe it all started to fit, with tolerances of the turbine in check(0.4mm)
Bild

Now,due to the low placement of the turbo..the downpipe would have ended up right into the passenger side engine mount so a new one had to be fabricated.
One was thought up from 5mm Domex steel, and is to use the volvo rally cushions we put into most of our modded cars.

Bild

This way we´ll have clearance for the 4" downpipe with no worries what so ever.

Further.
The compressor outlet of the Schwitzer is cut for a flange and a V-band,so..again hit the lathe and cut a weldbung with O-ring land to seal.

Bild

Something often done in the LKW world, and as those boys run way higher boost levels than we´ll ever imagine to see...well..

Btw.
That placement of the turbo leaves a clearance for the passenger side frame rail of approx 30mm.
Close...but no cigar ;)

Looks interesting, I'm curious about how it'll look and work when it's finished.

As we are on development, sup with the "Flachschieber"? Any news?

Gulliotine is coming along.
So far the CAD is more or less done, but due to me becoming as sick as i´ve done more or less everything along those lines has been put on hold.

Health b4 anything i guess.

The CAM "guy"(Who´s name is Marek btw) is into the loop completely tho, and i sincerly hope that as i get better things will come to a flying start.

What bothers me most is that my Dr tells me this might take a while-to get well again that is.

Thanx!
Honestly, the antibiotics are helping but at a slow rate.
Dr told me that the longer i´ve gone without aid the longer it takes for the antibiotics to do their thing.

But,the real issue really is the stresslevels involved when one get´s to be short for air coupled with the pains breathing.

Thanx to the antibiotics i at least get to sleep now, which i didn´t before.
Woke up like 5-10 times a night just swimmin in sweat.

Anyways.
Stainless flanges for the cylinderhead as well as turbo flange are to be watercut and delivered this week.

Will take a while to weld the new hedder up tho,and we aim for a primary lenght of approx 650mm.We believe that we´ve figured out the general routing of the pipes though, and i presume it will all turn out as we start performing the job.

Further,as we´ve CAD designed an intake flange,we´re going to put that to good use for the new intake setup.
Intake setup will be a diffusor one as b4,but seing the revs intended we´re going to try n shorten the intake as best as we can.
This, amongst other details, means that we´re going to modify the oilfilter housing and install a remote filter holder, but filter holder ONLY.
We NEED to get rid of the filter holder tho with the intended setup in mind.

Further, the alternator(lichtmachine) will reside in the OEM bracketry for the AC compressor now,so a little rerouting of the fan belt is up as well.

As far as camshafts i´ve been corresponding with catcams in belgium, and have a problem making them understand the needs of this project.
So...seems i´ll just use their 288deg cams and go from there.

Das wird ja ein Monster von Motor.
Da ist der Turbo ja fast so groß wie der Motorblock. :@g
Wünsche noch gute Besserung.
